Across the Years at Nardini Manor
Chasing 175 Miles at Across the Years
I am very excited to participate in my first multi-day ultramarathon event.
Across the Years is well known in the ultra community as one of the premier multi-day races in the country. Starting on December 29th, I will run for a straight 72 hours, finishing on New Years Day, at 9:00 a.m. — what way to ring in 2009!
My goal is to log an average of 58 miles a day, to complete a total of 175 miles (564 laps) by the completion of the three day event. As usual, I am bucking conventional wisdom, and going for it without sleep. …not so much because I’m cool like that, but more so because I am afraid that if I quit, even temporarily, I will become too stiff and sore to continue.
Nardini Manor – Across the Years Race Venue
Part over-excitement, part intrigue and wonder, …whatever it is, but after spending some time researching Nardini Manor, the race, the area and pretty much anything I could learn about the venue where I’ll be running for three straight days, I gathered some neat information.
